Chronicle of the Roman Republic

Philip Matyszak

This book is perfect for both novice and advanced readers of ancient Rome. It gives a very well formatted and comprehensive narrative to the first era of Roman history (753 BCE to 27 BCE). One of this book's strongest points is that it doesn't neglect many of the lesser known parts of Roman history. But instead covers all the important eras from the early monarchy through to the fall of the republic. It is full of photos, illustrations and graphics which make it an easy read compared to many other books on the subject which get bogged down in academic language.

This is easily one of my favourite books on ancient Rome and I can recommend it to you without any doubt that you'll love it as much as I do!
